Save Our Seas
8 million tons of waste ends up in our seas every year. 640 thousand tons of fishing nets are abandoned at the bottom of the ocean. Such alarming data tells us that, unless the situation drastically changes, by 2050 our seas might contain more waste than fish.
Just this information alone highlights the importance of making sustainable choices & limiting the damage already done to our planet and its oceans, which is why ALL Flickini swimwear is made from sustainable, recycled fabrics.
All Flickini pieces are made using ECONYL®, a 100% regenerated nylon yarn derived from ocean plastic, discarded fishing nets and other nylon waste.

Plastic Waste to Sustainable Swimwear
Instead of this pre and post industrial waste ending up in the landfill, it is recovered and regenerated to create a new yarn:
- RESCUE: Waste such as fishing nets, fabric scraps, carpets and industrial plastic all over the world is rescued, sorted and cleaned to recover all the nylon possible.
- REGENERATE: The nylon waste is then recycled right back to its original purity = ECONYL® regenerated nylon that is as good as new.
- REMAKE: ECONYL® regenerated nylon is then processed into yarn to be used in fashion & interior industries.
- REIMAGINE: new products can be created with ECONYL® regenerated nylon, which has the potential to be recycled infinitely without ever losing its quality.
We are very proud that all Flickini swimwear is made with recycled fabric using this revolutionary ECONYL® yarn. This means that instead of new resources being used, plastic and other waste is removed from our oceans and turned into a yarn that can create beautiful, long-lasting, quality swimwear.
Not only is our regenerated fabric eco-friendly, but it is ultra-resistant to chlorine and sun creams, offers UV protection and is SO SOFT.
We repeatedly hear from customers how “buttery soft” our swimwear is, and this fabric really is the softest and most comfortable out there.
Sustainable Accessories & Packaging
Beach Towels: Flickini beach towels are made using 100% regenerated cotton, which means no new cotton is used, cotton scraps are not wasted, and that the fabric is free from chemicals, pollutants and harsh dyes.
Water Bottles: Our stainless-steel bottles can be used for hot or cold liquid, in order to reduce the use of single-use plastic bottles and takeaway cups. 90% of all plastic bottles never get recycled, and the average time for a single bottle to decompose is a shocking 450 years. By making the switch to a reusable bottle en masse, we can make a huge difference as individuals.
100% Eco-Friendly Packaging: our lovely recyclable mailing bags are made from grass paper by a climate neutral company, and any packaging tape we use is made from recycled paper.
