SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability at Flickini

We believe in the importance of making sustainable choices and limiting the damage already done to our planet, which is why ALL Flickini swimwear is made from sustainable fabric.

All Flickini pieces are made using ECONYL® fibre, a 100% regenerated nylon yarn crafted from nylon waste otherwise polluting the Earth, like fishing nets, fabric scraps, carpet flooring and industrial plastic.

Nylon Waste to Sustainable Swimwear

We create all our swimwear without using new resources.

The ECONYL® Regeneration process:

      1. RESCUE: The ECONYL® Regeneration System starts with rescuing waste otherwise polluting the Earth, like fishing nets, carpet scraps, and industrial plastic all over the world. This waste is then sorted & cleaned to recover all of the nylon possible.
      2. REGENERATE: Through a radical regeneration & purification process, the nylon waste is recycled right back to its original purity. This means ECONYL® regenerated nylon is exactly the same as fossil-based nylon.
      3. REMAKE: ECONYL® regenerated nylon is then processed into yarns and polymers for the fashion & interior industries.
      4. REIMAGINE: new products can be created with ECONYL® regenerated nylon, which has the potential to be recycled infinitely without ever losing its quality.

Eco-Friendly Fabric

We are very proud that all Flickini swimwear is made with sustainable fabric crafted with ECONYL® regenerated yarn. This means that instead of new resources being used, nylon and other waste is turned into a yarn that can be used to create beautiful, long-lasting, quality swimwear.

Not only is our regenerated fabric eco-friendly, but it is ultra-resistant to chlorine and sun creams, offers UV protection and is SO SOFT.

We repeatedly hear from customers how “buttery soft” our swimwear is, and this fabric really is the softest and most comfortable out there.

Sustainable Accessories & Packaging

Beach Towels: Flickini beach towels are made using 100% regenerated cotton, which means no new cotton is used, cotton scraps are not wasted, and that the fabric is free from chemicals, pollutants and harsh dyes.

Water Bottles: Our stainless-steel bottles can be used for hot or cold liquid, in order to reduce the use of single-use plastic bottles and takeaway cups. 90% of all plastic bottles never get recycled, and the average time for a single bottle to decompose is a shocking 450 years. By making the switch to a reusable bottle en masse, we can make a huge difference as individuals.

100% Eco-Friendly Packaging: our lovely recyclable mailing bags are made from grass paper by a climate neutral company, and any packaging tape we use is made from recycled paper.
